The PRP Face Lift® Procedure™ combines the science of hyaluronic acid fillers (i.e., Restylane and Juvederm), unipotent stem cells, and beauty to provide a custom designer procedure. The procedure uses your own “platelet rich plasma” to help reverse the three signs of aging. To do this, a small tube of your blood is drawn by the lab and placed in a centrifuge. Spinning the blood at a rapid rate separates the platelets from the other blood cells. The “platelet rich plasma” is then activated for injection. The doctor then uses this plasma to activate your own skin stem cells to produce 8 growth factors that stimulate your cells to produce collagen and new blood vessels that 1) restore blood flow to your skin and improve its color, 2) stimulates your own collagen and fat cells to restore your facial shape, and 3) improves the texture of your skin. Restylane or other HA fillers are used to help form the scaffolding for the process. Evidence based medical reports in peer-reviewed journals document that the process is effective and produces results that can last 18 to 20 months. Unlike fat and fat stem cell injections, the process is not invasive and stimulates your own fat stem cells to restore volume.
Non-surgical procedure where Dr. Feldman injects PRP Platelet Rich Plasma to treat wrinkles, acne scars and to rejuvenate the skin.
The PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) facelift, also known as the ‘PRP Facelift’ (as coined by Kim Kardashian), is a non-surgical procedure where a Dr. Feldman injects the PRP Platelet Rich Plasma which includes parts of the patient’s own blood, into various areas of the patient’s face in order to treat wrinkles, acne scars, and give the patient a younger rejuvenated appearance.
To achieve the best results we also use the Eclipes Elite Pen, a fractioning micro needling device. The pen consists of 12 microneedles creating, micro-channels punctures into the skin that pushes the PRP substance into the “dermis” (the dense inner layer of skin beneath the “epidermis”).
Stem cells can be found in every part of the body, including our skin. The PRP substance activates the stem cells that lie dormant in the skin on the face through certain growth factors found in the platelets. When activated, those stem cells grow new, younger-looking skin giving you long lasting results.
About 2-4 vials of blood is drawn from the patient’s arm
A centrifuge is then used to separate plasma and platelets from the red blood cells. Those blood platelets are mixed with a special filler used to fill out wrinkles to provide a more youthful appearance.
Extract 3-6 ml of Platelet Rich Plasma
The patient’s face is numbed with a topical medication cream to reduce pain from needling.
After the numbing medication is applied and left for about 30 min we begin the process of spreading the Platelet Rich Plasma onto the patient’s face. The Eclipes Pen Elite is used to push the PRP into the skin and glides freely and easily over the tissue.
PRP is applied to the patient’s face using the Eclipes Pen which pushes the PRP into the Dermal. The remaining PRP is injected into specific areas of the patient’s face that needs the most improvement such as to increase volume, decrease lines, and to improve acne scarring. (In some cases this step is done first.)
Many patient’s report that their face looked refreshed, their fine lines and wrinkles diminished, they had no visible bruising at the injections sites with very minimal discomfort, and their results were almost instant.
Healing and Recovery: Since the PRP facelift with the Eclipes Pen is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that involves only injections, recovery time is minimal. You will not have any scars because we do not make any incisions; we only use needles. Also, since the substance used in the procedure derives from the patient’s own blood, there is very little risk of allergic reaction or abnormal response. The patient can return home right after the procedure. You may experience redness, which should go away after a few hours.
Potential side effects: Potential side effects can be temporary bruising, which can be caused by the reaction of the patient’s skin to the injections, mild swelling or edema, skin irritation or itching depending on the sensitivity of the patient’s skin but these should all resolve within a few days.
How long do the results last and how many treatments are needed: After a patient undergoes a PRP facelift the results will usually last between 9-12months. For best results, patients will revisit Dr. Feldman at The Oaks at Goodwood Medical Spa for a reinforcement injection every 6-9 months.
