Preparing for Your Rhinoplasty in Baton Rouge

Ask a friend or family member that you trust to drive you to and from your rhinoplasty; also, request that he or she remain with you overnight following your rhinoplasty.

For at least 10 days before your surgery date avoid taking aspirin, this includes products that contain aspirin. It is important to note that numerous non-prescription medications contain drugs similar to aspirin; therefore, check the ingredients before you take any medication. If you smoke, do your best to stop smoking, or at least limit the number of cigarettes you smoke. Smoking inhibits the body’s ability to heal itself; in addition, smoking increases post-operative coughing and bleeding.

You will need to fast prior to your rhinoplasty. This includes gum, candy and even water; however, if you take medication on a daily basis, ask Dr. Guillot if you can take the medication with a sip of water.
