The Sculpted Butt Lift cuts away the excess skin and lifts it prior to an augmentation. If you have been left with a lot of saggy skin after a large weight loss, having this procedure will be your first step toward achieving a sculpted hourglass figure. Once the excess skin has been removed and the area has healed then the gluteus can be augmented at a later stage.
The best candidates for this procedure are those who have had significant weight loss or who have loose skin because of aging and gravity. This procedure is not a buttock augmentation; it is a lift to the buttock. During your consultation, Dr. Guillot will evaluate the type, shape, skin and tone of your buttocks to help him determine if in fact you need to have an excision buttock lift versus doing a Sculpted Butt Augmentation.
The Sculpted Butt Augmentation procedure is a high volume fat transfer to the buttock and hips. This procedure has two main objectives. First to increase the size of the buttocks by harvest the fat from abdomen, flanks, and lower back, upper back, thighs by liposuction and injecting this into the buttocks. Dr. Guillot will sculpt the waist and hip to the perfect hourglass shape.
The best candidates for these procedures are patients with excess fat in certain areas like the back, abdomen, flanks, sides, and thighs. Overall you must be completely healthy, if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, or any medical issues surgical clearance by your primary care doctor will be necessary.
During your complimentary consultation with Dr. Guillot he will explain the areas that are suitable for fat harvesting, and how he will sculpt your shape. Dr. Guillot will also discuss your expectations and how realistic you should be about the results “shape, size, projection, and muscle structure”. Dr. Guillot will also discuss if you smoke, your medical history all medication, vitamins, or drugs that can affect post operative care and might increase the chances of bleeding and heart problems.
Dr. Guillot will perform your surgery at First Choice Surgery Center in Baton Rouge Louisiana, a fully accredited surgical facility. The procedure is done under general anesthesia. First Choice Surgery Center only use board certified anesthesiologist as well as professional assistant, and certified nurse anesthetist for all surgeries. The procedure time ranges depending on the size of the patient 3 to 4 hours.
After Surgery, you will go into recovery at first choice surgery center where you will be given IV antibiotics and will control your pain with IV medication. We will encourage you to walk around immediately after surgery since this diminishes the risk of having blood clots. In general, your pain will feel like soreness, as if you had been exercising for a long time, we will prescribe medications to control your pain and you will be discharged within 6 hours. Dr. Guillot insists that you move around to prevent blood clots and reduce swelling the first 5 to 7 days. Plan to take two weeks off of work and plan on wearing girdles for six months to reduce swelling. You will need to lie on your stomach during your leisure time and for sleeping for the next two weeks and follow all post care instructions given.
Dr. Guillot will see you in his office within 24 hours in his office for a follow up visit and then again 5 days later. On day 10 your stitches will be removed, you will be unable to sit for 2 weeks after surgery. If you sit too early after surgery it will cause pressure necrosis, which means that the fat will die and you will have suboptimal results. Final results will be seen in 6 to 9 months following procedure.
A posterior butt lift is designed to tighten the skin and eliminate the loose skin that hangs above the buttocks. Tightening this skin elevates the tissues in the buttocks; thus, improving its shape. A butt lift can be performed alone or with other procedures that are commonly included in a total body lift.
Dr. Thomas S. Guillot frequently performs posterior butt lift procedures in Baton Rouge to address low hanging buttocks and/or loose skin directly above the buttocks.
A traditional butt lift involves removing excess skin, fat and tissue to lift the buttocks. Once complete, Dr. Guillot pulls the skin taut and repositions it to achieve a lighter, younger appearance. A Brazilian butt lift is less invasive because it involves smaller incisions that allow for the transfer of fat.
This is an extremely popular procedure since it only requires minor incisions. During this procedure, Dr. Guillot uses liposuction to sculpt the buttocks. He removes unwanted fat from various areas of the body (e.g., abdomen and thighs), he purifies the fat and injects it into the buttocks. This procedure adds volume; thus, creating buttocks that appear younger and lifted. However, a Brazilian butt lift cannot address sagging skin. Individuals who have excess, sagging skin should consider a lower body lift or traditional butt lift.
During a traditional lift, Dr. Guillot removes thin layers of fat, tissue and skin. He may also tighten the underlying muscles, as well as apply sutures to hold the buttocks in their new, lifted position.
The amount of sagging a patient has determines the butt lift procedure Dr. Guillot recommends.
This surgery involves an incision across the top of the buttocks. This incision allows Dr. Guillot to access underlying tissue. During the procedure, he will remove or reposition excess tissue.
This lift gets its name from the type of incision plastic surgeons use to access underlying tissue. The incision begins at the central crease of the buttock, moving up and outward. Dr. Guillot can tighten sagging tissue with this technique; however, repositioning or actually lifting the buttocks is typically performed using other butt lift techniques.
Individuals suffering from mild to moderate sagging may be good candidates for a lower butt lift with Dr. Guillot in Baton Rouge. During this procedure, Dr. Guillot removes unwanted tissue through an incision at the bottom of the buttocks. Once complete, he moves the crease at the base of the buttocks upward. Although a traditional lift leaves scars, Dr. Guillot places these incisions in less visible areas.
Patients are encouraged to walk around as this prevents the formation of blood clots and reduces swelling.
For approximately two weeks, patients must avoid sitting and lying on their backs; instead, they should lie on their stomachs.
